My name is Mike Consoli, and as President of the Ponies In Paradise Mustang Club of Southwest Florida, I would like to personally welcome you to our club website and information center. We take great pride in being a family oriented club. That is what attracts many members to join Ponies In Paradise, and that is what separates us from many other car clubs. We encourage our members to bring along their spouses and children to our meetings and events in order to share in the fun and camaraderie. When you join Ponies In Paradise you are also joining another family. It's hard to describe the fun that we all share whenever we are all together, but I can guarantee that you will leave laughing and with great memories.
As Southwest Florida's largest Mustang car club with members totaling in excess of 150, we presently have members from Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and Collier counties. Ponies In Paradise has members who own cars running in age from the original 1964 1/2 through the current model year. Whether it be a standard Mustang coupe or convertible, Roush, Saleen, Shelby or custom, chances are that one of our club members owns one, or more.
We all share the same philosophy that these cars are meant to be driven. And believe me, they are! Unlike many other car clubs, Ponies In Paradise has activities and events planned throughout the entire 12 month year. Let me list just a few of the things we like to do as a club:
Monthly club meetings/brunch
Although many of our activities are local, we enjoy venturing throughout the state of Florida and also to other states. Last year some members drove from the Ft Myers/Naples area to the Annual Sturgis Mustang Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. 14 states in 20+ days. Now, that was some trip! We always encourage our members to make suggestions for club events. After all, this is your club, so let's do things that you want to do.
Monthly brunch meetings are held at Connors Steak & Seafood Restaurant, (Gulf Coast Town Center), 10076 Gulf Center Dr, Ft Myers, Fl 33913. The brunch begins at 11:30am on the 4th Sunday of each month. Come early, park the Stang out front and enjoy each others company before the meeting.
Presently Ponies In Paradise proudly sponsors and supports the Harry Chapin Food Bank http://www.harrychapinfoodbank.org/, . Their untiring efforts make it possible to allow those less fortunate to be able to obtain basic food necessities in order to maintain a healthy daily diet.
On Tuesday, November 25, 2014 Mike Consoli, President of PIP met and presented another donation to our charity, the Harry Chapin Food Bank. This donation totaled $1.000.00 and was the direct result of our monthly 50/50 raffles that we hold during our club meetings. Pictured below with Mike are Mr. Al Brislain, Pres & CEO of the food bank and Joyce Jacobs, Associate Director and Disaster Coordinator.
Thanks go out to each member who participates in the 50/50 and special thanks goes out to several of our generous members who donated all or a portion of their winnings back into the pooled fund which is earmarked for the Food Bank. Ponies In Paradise, as a not for profit organization, sponsors the Harry Chapin Food Bank. For every dollar that they receive as a donation, they can, with their purchasing power, turn that dollar into six dollars. Our $1,000.00 donation will now have the purchasing power of $6,000.00.
